FAMILY DENTISTRY

Restorative Dentistry

Being able to properly chew your food is important to your overall health and quality of life. Having lost teeth restored is also necessary for speaking and communicating. Dr. Cucchiara can restore your damaged teeth and your ability to eat, speak and smile with confidence!

PARTIAL AND FULL DENTURES

Dentures can improve your appearance and your confidence. They can replace teeth that have been lost due to decay, periodontal disease, or accidents. Depending upon your needs, we can provide either partial, full, removable, or fixed dentures. There are metal and metal-free options available! If you are having problems with your existing dentures, please feel free to bring them to your appointment for Dr. Cucchiara’s assessment. With the help of implant dentistry, we can now firmly secure your dentures in place. That means no more denture adhesive or slipping while you eat or speak!

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants can effectively replace missing teeth. If there is a sufficient bone foundation, implants can also provide support for loose-fitting dentures. During the procedure, the dentist will place titanium anchors, or implants, below the gum line where they will fuse with the jawbone. After a healing period of a few months, a dental crown or bridge can be inserted to restore missing teeth or your denture can be secured into place by fitting it to the implants.

BRIDGES, CROWNS & OVERLAYS

A bridge is a porcelain-fused-to-metal prosthesis that is cemented to the teeth next to a space in the dentition in order to replace the missing tooth. This procedure is usually done when implants cannot be done.

When teeth have been cracked, broken, or weakened by decay, large fillings, and root canal therapy, we can restore their strength with crowns. Technological advances have made the options virtually endless with many varieties of porcelain/metal and metal-free porcelain crowns now available.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

When tooth decay has progressed to a certain point or when a tooth becomes non-vital, root canal therapy is recommended in order to save the tooth. This procedure involves cleaning and reshaping the innermost part of the tooth, then filling and sealing the root canals. The top part of the tooth is restored with a dental crown for long-term strength and prevention against tooth decay.

PERIODONTAL (GUM) DISEASE

Tooth enamel becomes stained and darkened over time due to certain foods such as tea, wine, tobacco, coffee, fluoride, antibiotics, and aging. One of the fastest methods to improve the appearance of your teeth is professional teeth whitening, either in the office or at home with custom-made whitening trays.

ORAL CANCER SCREENING

Close to 40,000 Americans will be diagnosed with oral or pharyngeal cancer this year. Dr. Cucchiara is committed to your health and conducts a thorough exam of your lips and mouth at each check-up visit.
